DJ Dan - Remembering a long time friend and colleague

This is the most difficult and emotional post I've ever posted publicly. First off I'm beyond

Here's the original post from Facebook and Instagram I posted about my friend:

This is the most difficult and emotional post I've ever posted publicly. First off I'm beyond sad to know my longtime friend, colleague and DJ partner is no longer with us. I don't want to believe he is gone, he was too young to leave us all.

There's countless memories and great times, too many to mention. I was fortunate to first meet DJ Dan back in 1991, he was introduced to me by an oldschool friend and promoter Johnny Malpass and Marty. These guys were the first to hire Dan to play in L.A. after coming here from Seattle, Washington. After Dan and I first met I already knew this guy was cool and would be a great friend and soon a DJ partnership (DX2). After our first gig together we had quickly formulated a DJ duo name for ourselves and I thought this would be a great way to showcase us and also to show off how amazing of a DJ Dan was. Dan was a true talent and he could rock any dance-floor in any town and venue he played at. The early 1990's was truly a magical time, especially with Dan as my partner. Besides the hundreds and more gigs we played together at we also collaborated on several DJ mix tape projects as DX2 and these mixes of us are still my favorite to listen to. Dan was such a close friend of mine that he was one of my groomsmen in my wedding which was an honor to have him be a part of. Dan was also a very generous and loving guy, he was always there to talk about anything from personal to business stuff and to cheer you up. There's so many stories and good times that I want to share with everyone, but most of you already know what a great and fun guy Dan was to be around.

These past couple of years has been tough for a lot us with losing so many great people in our beloved underground scene. From promoters to DJ's to ravers and close friends and colleagues that have left us way too early, it hurts. For myself losing Dan hit me really hard and combined with all of the amazing people we lost it just makes me want to cherish the people in our scene that are still alive. We should all take time out of our busy lives and reach out to the people we love more often. We could all use a little bit of connection with the people close in our lives (family, friends and rave family).

My personal message to you Dan: I love you and will never forget you and I will always remember all the great times we had together. I will miss you calling me Ronda Core the nickname you gave me in the early years and also the countless hours we spent going through our records to prepare for our sets and the many road trips to San Francisco.

Helen, Zy and I give you the biggest hug and say goodbye for now and we'll meet again someday.

Rest in music, your friend Ron D Core
